The Region Six 12th Step Within Committee invites your intergroup to engage in important 12th Step Within action. Mobilize as many OA members possible within your meetings to telephone those still-suffering OA members on the 12th day of each month. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.

Greetings Region Six Representatives and Guests:
The next scheduled Region 6 Assembly will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Albany Medical Center, Albany NY.
Visit the Assembly Documents Page for required documents. You will find both Assembly Documents as well as the Officers’ Reports for the Fall 2013 Assembly. This is the second time we have distributed Officers’ Reports in this manner.
In the “old days” we spent Friday evenings running around in circles (literally!) collating the reports from the R6 Officers. In keeping with our “paperless policy,” Region Six now distributes documents via email and posts them on the R6 website. The advantage of distributing Officers’ Reports in advance is that R6 Reps are able to arrive at Assembly well-informed and, if needed, prepared to ask questions for supplementary information.
We are going to have a very full house at this Assembly. As of this writing, we are scheduled to have approximately 90 people in the Assembly meeting room. This does not include those who choose to register the day of the Assembly at the door.
In preparation for our full house: PLEASE REFRAIN FROM WEARING ANY FRAGRANCES. We will be in close proximity to one another so as a courtesy to one another “soap & water fresh” is in order. ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER TO DRESS IN LAYERS so that you can add/remove them as necessary so that you are comfortable.
If there are Representatives/Alternates in your intergroup who have not yet registered, please remind them the deadline to do so online is 9:00 AM, Monday, September 23. Those who choose to register at the door are ineligible for the catered lunch.
Delegates at the 2013 World Service Business Conference voted to approve the following changes to the Anonymity Statement originally adopted by the 1980 Conference. Please bring this new change to your group.

An anonymity statement was adopted:
Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of our program, always ensuring principles before personalities. This means that OA itself is not anonymous, but its members are. There are no exceptions. While OA may be publicized, we do not break our individual anonymity at the level of press, radio, films,
and television, and all public media of communication, and the recognizable facial exposure of persons identifying as OA members at the level of press, films, and television, and all public media of communication is a violation of our tradition of anonymity, even though the first name only is given or the entire name is withheld.
