The Assembly Convention Committee had its mind on sites for the next two Region 6 conventions during its meeting at the Spring Assembly April 6 in Albany, N.Y., U.S. It decided to reach out to intergroups in upstate New York looking for one or more groups to host the 2025 Convention, and will be seeking out Canadian intergroups to host the event in 2026.

Intergroups are asked to handle the bulk of organizing for an event in their area; often, more than one intergroup will share the tasks. Any group that does host gets a share of the income from the event.

The committee also pledged to continue an effort already under way to update the Convention Planning Manual, a tool that intergroups rely on when organizing their conventions. Once the manual is revised, the committee intends to have it translated into French, for use by the Region’s three French-speaking intergroups.
