Let’s work together
I’m Kimberly, a compulsive overeater in Connecticut. I’ve been in OA for more than 37 years, and for most of those years I told myself I would do service on the Region board “some day.” Some daywhen I had time, some day when I retired… some day I imagined far away. Well, it’s no surprise that I’m not in charge of the timing and a few years ago, some day became TODAY — and here I am! After serving as your vice chair, it is my honor to have been elected R6 chair last fall. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with our intergroups to help strengthen the recovery both of our members and those who haven’t yet found OA. I’ve got some ideas and am sure you do, too. I really want to hear YOUR ideas, and am sure we will come up with more ideas as we work together.
Trustee Liaison Beth B. mentioned the value of visiting intergroups in our region — something she and Carmen D. had done. If your Intergroup agrees, Beth and I would love to come to come to one of your Intergroup meetings on Zoom and meet you and your reps. Our primary goal in these visits is to meet your intergroup team. If you like, I can share a few minutes on some things I’m thinking about based on our survey results. Beth and I can also answer questions about what you think Region 6 can do to support our intergroups — or we can observe and listen!I believe it’s the Region’s job to help our Intergroups carry out Tradition Five; getting to know each other can only help us all do that more effectively!
If you would like to contact me, or to invite Beth and I to an intergroup meeting, you can email me at chair@OAregion6.org to set up time talk OR about scheduling a visit at an upcoming intergroup meeting!
