Covid at WSBC
The conference started with 188 voting delegates. By the last session Saturday morning, that number was down to 170. That shrinkage happens every year — because people have to leave early, for example.
But this year, two people were reported to have tested positive for Covid on Thursday afternoon, and they were not isolated incidents, apparently. I’m only one delegate, and of course people’s privacy demands that no official count exists, but I know of five people, including four from Region 6, who are now reporting positive tests.
The region’s delegation numbered in the low 20s, and four of them got Covid. Another experienced laryngitis, although frequent testing had not yet revealed contraction of the disease. But if the ratio in our region is even near typical, that’s a lot of cases.
