Hi folks,

Each spring, OAs from around the world gather in Albuquerque for our annual business conference call the World Service Business Conference (WSBC). Your region chair and trustee will be there. So will I as luck would have it. I am a delegate from my Intergroup.

If you want to learn about WSBC 2008, there are lots of documents on-line you can read. This is OA business. It affects us all. IMHO, it’s worth the investment of time in reading much of this.

If you want to follow the business as it’s conducted, I’ll be blogging on the MetroWest Intergroup website. Feel free to read along and even comment. I can promise to read all comments. I can’t promise to reply to questions, but I will try. These conferences are very busy, in a good way.

So, there you are. You’re invited. I hope you RSVP you’ll be there!

Our Region 6 Assembly is this Saturday, April 12th, starting with an OA meeting 7:30. At 9:00am registration begins. Even if you’re not an official voting delegate, come on out and see how Region 6 OA business is done.

Our Spring 2008 issue of the Region 6 newsletter the Messenger is available now. At the moment, only the English version is available, but the French version will be coming in the future. Visit our Newsletter page to see the latest as well as past issues.

Anticipating spring? I sure am, and with spring I’m looking forward to our spring assembly on Saturday, April 12th, 2008. Over the next few days, all Intergroups will be getting the big assembly mailing with all the documents including the motions for assembly.

Get involved in OA service. It’s fun. It’s slimming and it pays dividends in abstinence.

Did you know that Region 6 maintains a list of speakers willing to do service at your events? People who sign up, and there are
3 pages of names on the list, must have one year of continuous abstinence, and be actively involved with OA. This is a nice resource. Because of all the personal contact information on the list, we don’t post this to the website. In an effort to make our Region 6 website easier to navigate and easier to maintain, I’ve completed a redesign using content management software. Millions of websites use this software so I have to believe this will make it easier to find service volunteers to take on the Webmaster service position in years to come..

With this redesign, I’ve included a page specifically for newcomers. I believe that content will evolve a our members express their ideas on how best to attract and retain newcomers through this portal.

What’s happening this weekend

Our Fall assembly is this weekend. Held in the Spring and Fall of each year, these important business meetings are where the region conducts it’s business. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Intergroups are encouraged to send their delegates to participate and vote on assembly business.
